Pelosi Urges Biden to Decide on 2024 Run, Says 'Time is Running Short'

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in a recent interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," refrained from giving a full endorsement of President Joe Biden's bid for the 2024 presidential race. She emphasized that the decision ultimately rests with Biden, urging him to make a timely decision given that "time is running short."

Pelosi highlighted that Biden is well-respected and beloved within the Democratic Party but acknowledged that she could not gauge the full extent of congressional Democrats' support for his candidacy, especially since she no longer holds a leadership position. She stated, "I want him to do whatever he decides to do, and that’s — that’s the way it is. Whatever he decides, we go with."

In a later statement, Pelosi's spokesman, Ian Krager, reiterated her stance, affirming her full support for whatever decision Biden makes, while also emphasizing the importance of focusing on the broader implications of the race, particularly the potential threat posed by Donald Trump.

Pelosi, a prominent and influential figure within the Democratic caucus, suggested that she has advised her colleagues to withhold public opinions on Biden's potential candidacy for now. This guidance underscores the delicate nature of the decision and the strategic considerations involved for the Democratic Party as the 2024 election approaches.
